The CATO 10300 fire extinguisher tray – universal rust-prevention base for fire
extinguisher cabinets is designed to protect 5 lb., 10 lb., and 20 lb. fire extinguishers
from rust and moisture damage inside a cabinet. By raising the
extinguisher off the cabinet floor, the tray allows air to circulate underneath,
helping prevent condensation from collecting at the base. This improved
airflow greatly reduces the risk of corrosion, which is one of the most common
reasons extinguishers fail inspection. According to installation guidance,
the tray is specifically engineered to “allow air to flow under the extinguisher
to alleviate corrosion due to condensation.”
Not needed in the CATO 20
lb. cabinets.
This tray fits inside most fire extinguisher cabinets
and is sized for standard 5 lb., 10 lb., and 20 lb. extinguishers commonly used in
commercial and industrial buildings. It works with plastic cabinets, metal
cabinets, and recessed or surface-mounted models. The tray is ideal for
locations where humidity, cleaning water, or temperature changes can cause
moisture to collect inside cabinets, such as hospitals, schools, offices,
warehouses, and laboratories.
